A little over an hour's drive from the city, Palm Beach is at the exclusive end of Sydney's long stretch of northern beaches. It sits at the end of a long peninsula, with surf on one side and Pittwater on the other. Many of the country's wealthy have built their holiday houses here purely for the cafes. Fans will also recognise Palm Beach as the mythical village of ‘Summer Bay' where the hit TV series Home and Away is filmed. The two-kilometre long, golden beach curves from Barrenjoey Head at the southern head of Broken Bay, to the sandstone rocks of Little Head in the south. Palm Beach sits at the end of a long peninsula, with the ocean on one side and the tranquil waters of Pittwater on the other. Dramatic Barrenjoey Head looms over the northern end of the beach, with historic Barrenjoey Lighthouse and light-keepers' cottages at the end of the Barrenjoey Lighthouse Walk, a popular track for surfers, joggers and walkers. From the Barrenjoey Lighthouse, built in the 1880s, you can look over Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park and Broken Bay, or all along the dramatic coastline north of Sydney. The North Palm Beach surf club is an ideal place to sit and enjoy the sweeping ocean views. The southern end of Palm Beach is more protected for swimming. Most of Sydney's northern beaches have ocean rock pools which are perfect for swimming laps or for young children. In the village you will find one-of-a-kind designer boutiques, award-winning restaurants and cafes and charming guesthouses that serve up gourmet Australian breakfast and coffee complemented by panoramic Pacific Ocean vistas. In winter, it's the perfect place to spot migrating humpback whales. The ‘still water' side of Pittwater has boat hire facilities as well as fishing, sailing, kayaking and diving and the elegant Palm Beach Golf Club. Governor Phillip Park has a delightful picnic and BBQ area. Take the historic ferry from Palm Beach to pretty Ettalong, a popular picnic and camping spot for locals. There is also a scenic cruise from Palm Beach Wharf along the beautiful lower Hawkesbury River, which is a relaxing and great way to escape for the day.

COFFEE - Recent research has shown that coffee, may help prevent diseases like stroke and certain cancers, lower our risk of Parkinson's and dementia, and boost our concentration and memory. Partly that's because coffee beans are seeds, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) reminds us, and like all seeds, they're loaded with protective compounds. At Snapperman Beach Cafe, Palm Beach we are proud to be affiliate with Vittoria Coffee. We chose to use Vittoria Organic because of their alignment with the rainforest alliance and OzHarvest. The Rainforest Alliance harnesses market forces as part of its strategy to arrest the major drivers of deforestation and environmental destruction: timber extraction, agricultural expansion, cattle ranching and tourism. The organization trains farmers, foresters and tourism operators in sustainable practices that conserve land and waterways, improve livelihoods, and protect workers and communities; it also helps them access the financing necessary to implement sustainability changes. Farms and forestry enterprises are audited against rigorous standards maintained by the Sustainable Agriculture Network and the Forest Stewardship Council — international NGOs the Rainforest Alliance helped to found. Those farms and forestry enterprises that pass both annual and surprise audits are certified by the organization and earn the right to use the Rainforest Alliance Certified seal. Tourism businesses that adopt established best management practices can use the Rainforest Alliance Verified mark. The seal helps consumers support responsible farmers, foresters and tourism businesses by identifying products sourcing ingredients from these farms and services that have implemented best practices.

BREAKFAST - Breakfast is commonly referred to as "the most important meal of the day." Indeed, current research has shown that people who skip breakfast are disproportionately likely to have problems with concentration, metabolism, weight, and cardiac health. We have many options from cereals to eggs to savouries, and from fresh juices all with health benefits displayed to superfood smoothies. We source our fresh fruit direct from the gardeners every week.

LUNCH - Gluten is basically a special type of protein that is found in foods such as cereals, certain grains, and wheat. One of the main purposes of gluten is to keep the elasticity intact in foods during the fermentation phase of food production. Gluten makes bread “chewy,” and prevents other foods from having a sticky, doughy-like texture. At Snapperman beach cafe, we have a large proportion of our menu with gluten free options, including several dishes, dairy free and vegan. We have organic almond milk, rice milk and soy milk, including bonsoy for our coffee.

Instagram is the best way to keep up to date with photos and information what we are up to at the cafe in Palm Beach. We post daily across Facebook, and twitter also.

We love food, but we have changed the way we eat. Everything used to be laden with butter and calories. Now we take a healthy approach to the food we serve to everyone. Each dish is carefully designed around maximising macro and micro nutrients and we have added superfoods to our range. Super smoothies have been added as a form of liquid meal, and all of them have health benefits. Fresh turmeric, Maca, Cacao, Sesame, Cayenne, Chia, LSA. We have added gluten free bread to our menus and vegan and organic dishes. Dinners have moved away from heavy, calorie filled emails to healthy grilled options on the BBQ and of course the boys will be back jamming out the tunes. We can't wait to see you this summer. Clean, nutritious food untainted by toxic chemicals and grown in healthy soil teeming with beneficial life is what more and more people want today. As a result, organic and wholefood products have grown exponentially over the past few years, making it the fastest growing segment of our agriculture. Though still a small industry compared to conventional agriculture, increasing interest by consumers has encouraged the farmers and retailer like us, to provide a range of food, not offered by mainstream farmers and retailers. This growth, would encourage a better future for human health and the planet as a whole and confirms that organic farming will continue to grow and have a positive impact on our world. What does organic really mean? Who are the people who toil long hours to ensure that the food on your plate is in its purest and most natural state and why do they do it? In essence, the purpose of organic farming is to work as a partner with nature to promote natural and compassionate husbandry of plants and animals while conserving soil and water resources. In which case, Soil and plants are not treated with toxic chemicals or persistent pesticides. No toxic fertilizers or sewage sludge is used to promote growth, nor are genetically engineered seeds allowed. Animals are fed organic feeds and their natural behaviours must be accommodated to make their lives as comfortable and stress-free as possible. The use of synthetic growth hormones and antibiotics are forbidden. At Snapperman beach cafe & bar, we spent hours of research, sourced the farmers and producers for one purpose….to simply offer the best choice of food we possibly can because it's the most important part of our commitment to your health & longevity.
